Given the burden of diabetes\, Wisdom\, Power & Control addresses the need for an evidence-based\, culturally relevant type 2 diabetes self-management education program. Participants in the workshop will learn to develop self-care skills\, to improve eating habits\, maintain good nutrition and to improve the quality of life for those living with diabetes. Participants will be equipped with the knowledge and the lifestyle skills that will better control their diabetes. Educational programs of the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service are open to all people without regard to race\, color\, sex\, disability\, religion\, age or national origin. The workshop is open to the community and will be led by Mary Sanders\, a Cooperative Extension Agent. It will be offered at the New Beginnings Life Ministries Conference Room located at 1016 E.
