The course content and activities prepare participants to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and prevent drowning and injuries. \n\n\n\nPrerequisites:  swim 300 yards continuously using freestyle and breaststroke.  Starting in water\, swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke\, surface dive\, retrieve a 10 lb object\, return to surface swim 20 yards back with both hands on object within 1 min 40 sec.
