Saved by forward-thinking ranchers like Boone Heap who traveled to Tennessee in the early 20th century and brought back myotonics\, these goats were able to adapt to the rugged Texas landscape. They hold important genetics for sheer grit   the willingness to fight off predators\, their high mothering skills\, the tolerance of parasites and heavy muscling   all characteristics that Boer\, Kiko and other commercial goat breeders value.
