SUMMARY:Washington County Republican Women (WCRW) Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Lunch available at 11:30\n\nam for $15 at The Cannery Kitchen.  Reservation required for meal at wcrw.org.\n\n \n\nMeeting starts at noon with featured speaker   Kevin Deramus who currently serves as the Agency Chief of EMS for Washington County. He has over 29 years of public safety experience with over 8 years as a flight paramedic for Scott & White in Temple Texas\, 15 years as lead water rescue operator and instructor for TXTF1\, and serving both Blinn College and TEEX Paramedic programs over the last 20 years.\n\n\n\nDeramus also serves on numerous local\, regional\, and state committees such as the Homeland Security Advisory Committee for the Brazos Valley\, He Chairs the Brazos Valley Regional Advisory Trauma Council\, and recently was appointed serve on the Governors EMS & Trauma Advisory Council   EMS Committee as Committee Chair. \n\n\n\nDeramus has received numerous distinguished honors and awards throughout his EMS career. He was the first-ever recipient of the 'Brazos Valley Regional Hero Award'\,  awarded the 'Outstanding Public Servant Award' in 2001.  In 2003 Kevin won the Statewide EMS Person of the Year of Award for the State of Texas and in 2007 was awarded the Texas EMS Administrator of the Year Award by the State of Texas.  The 2011 Department of Defense Patriotic Employer Award. He recently became the first two-time winner of the State EMS Director of the Year award in 2017. He also received the distinguished service award from Texas Task Force 1 from his service during Hurricane Hanah rescues of 2020 where he served as the rescue manager and 3 lives were saved during that hurricane.  In 2020\, he received the Washington County Man of the Year Award by the Chamber of Commerce of Washington County for his servant leadership to the community. In 2021\, Washington County EMS won the 2021 TEMSA Department of The Year for the State of Texas.
