SHIPPING & RECEIVING OPERATOR

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Oversee receiving and other warehouse processes to make sure work meets quality

• Works with managers and other supervisors to coordinate resources as necessary to

• Assist with the development, revision, and enforcement of inventory management and

• Operate lift trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment to safely move products to proper
• Oversee the receipt of purchased goods verifying counts and quality, complete
• Inspect freight upon arrival, document any signs of damage
• Visually monitor inventory levels and communicate low levels to buyers, schedulers,
• Cycle counts finished goods inventory according to established guidelines and assist
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so
• Continue to grow lean knowledge and use the tools to identify and assist with
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
• Work on loading platform to position products on flatbed trailers or vans
• Use staging documents to identify the product to be loaded as required.
• Stage product for loading, identify the product using identification markers. Transport
• Use adequate packaging when loading products to assure the product is stable and
• Operate forklift to transport product from inventory location to staging location to be
• Assist in assuring paperwork is accurate indicating product is loaded as prescribed on
• Assist in staging products to be brought in for loading.
• Perform general housekeeping which includes and is not limited to sweeping, painting, operating sweeper, and mopping.
• Exercise a keen sense of awareness when moving products to dispose of dunnage.
• Work in a team environment.
• Perform other tasks as prescribed by shift lead person or department supervisor.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Become a certified forklift operator.
• Complete crane training.
• Ability to read & write in English.
• Ability to perform basic math: add, subtract, decimals and fractions.
• Must be able to perform basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, decimals, and fractions).  
• Must be able to or learn how to read a tape measure.
