Blind Willie Johnson is a national treasure that has inspired and comforted so many with his timeless contribution to American music. We are very excited to celebrate and honor his legacy with a tribute kicking off on his birthday weekend. He was born just outside Brenham in Independence in 1897 and frequently played music on streets in Texas. To this day he is considered one of the greatest bottleneck slide guitarists that’s ever walked the Earth. With his existential lyrics and soulful blues lines, he definitely oozes spirituality in his art. Over the next couple weeks, leading up to the tribute weekend, we will be posting artist showcases for each musician performing at the tribute.
