Saturday’s events begin at 3 p.m. with the Cool Rods Car Show in the Poplar Lot in downtown Chappell Hill. There will also be food vendors and live music from Rob Moorman and Company.
Shops and restaurants will be open all day. The Chappell Hill Historical Society will sell hot dogs and sponsor a petting zoo, and the museum will be open featuring live music from 4 to 7 p.m.
The “World Famous Marching Kazoo Band” will return as part of the parade. Participants will receive an official Kazoo and Kazoo Band t-shirt. The parade will take place as a lighted parade on Saturday, July 3rd at night, getting underway at 7:30 p.m. with a theme of “Let Freedom Ring.”
Over $1,000 in prize money will be awarded to parade and car show entries. Parking is free and will be available at the Main Street parking lot by the Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department.
