CDL Training Program Offered in Washington County
 
The Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) Extension Program and Ancora, in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club, Washington County Expo and the City of Brenham, are excited to bring its CDL Training program to Washington County.  This program falls within the work purview of PVAMU’s The Rural Workforce Academy (TRWA).  The inaugural program will begin on September 28, 2026 at 1710 East Tom Green Street in Brenham, TX.
 
The Certified Driver’s License (CDL) program will include a qualifying screening, classroom instruction, tutoring if needed, driving instructions, and job placement assistance, if needed.  Course content focuses on all aspects of being an excellent, qualified commercial driver.
 
While this inaugural program is free to the first four qualifying registrants, registration is required by September 22, 2026.

The official ribbon-cutting will take place at 2:30 p.m. on September 23, 2026, at the Washington County Extension Offices, 1305 East Blue Bell Road, in Brenham, Texas. Stop by to see one of the training rigs and pick up giveaway items while supplies last. Items will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
