This bird banding workshop will be conducted at a private residence north of Chappell Hill. Wintering birds(such as phoebes and sparrows) and permanent resident birds will be weighed, banded, and measured. Criteria used to age and sex each bird will be explained and participants will have the opportunity to handle birds. Bring your favorite lawn chair and assist Darrell in watching the mist nets for birds. Be sure to bring your cameras! Bring drinking water and snacks. Participants are welcomed to join Darrell for lunch in Chappell Hill after the workshop is finished.
