Join us the Brenham Heritage Museum on Tuesday, May 27th, for a distinguished installment of our Speaker Series, featuring guest speaker and author Blake Pfeffer, who will present insights from his recent publication: “Shouts from the Republic: A Brief History of the Republic of Texas and the Cost of Freedom.”

Mr. Pfeffer’s lifelong dedication to Texas history began in his youth and has since grown into a personal library of over 2,200 volumes—many of them rare and original editions from the 19th century. His scholarship is grounded in these primary sources, offering a compelling exploration of the Texians' fight for independence, shedding light on the individuals, battles, and sacrifices that shaped the Republic of Texas. A respected voice in the historical community, Mr. Pfeffer has previously spoken at the Texas State Historical Association, the State Capitol, and numerous civic and historical organizations across the state.
