Online talk: San Felipe de Austin State Historic Site
Tuesday, October 20 at noon Bryan McAuley, site manager at San Felipe de Austin State Historic Site, will share a quick overview of the San Felipe project which culminated in the opening of a new visitor center in the spring of 2018. The site shares the stories of Stephen F. Austin and his efforts to recruit settlers to Mexican Texas between 1821 and 1836 and is located at the site of his Colony headquarters. Of note, the program will discuss a current outdoor exhibit project that will result in some representative buildings from one of the most significant blocks from the business district of the town.
