Pictures of a Former World: Appreciating Antique Maps
Kent Grubbs will present a primer on the fascinating and colorful world of antique maps - what they are, where they came from, who made them and most of all, what they tell us about the state of geographical knowledge at a particular point in time. Emphasis will be on the 'Golden Age' of European mapmaking.
