Relay For Life
6th Annual Washington County Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of your American Cancer Society. During the event, teams of people gather and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times. Cancer Survivor Recognition - Friday, April 27 - 7:00 pm
Cancer survivors from Brenham and Washington County are invited to walk the first lap of the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life event to celebrate their victory over cancer. The event and survivor's lap will be held on the Blinn Campus at Spencer Field. Each cancer survivor will receive a free T-shirt to wear while walking the track. There is no cost to participate. Cancer survivors need to call Casey Finke, 979-251-2411 or Kimberly Kenjura, 979-277-8823 to register and to request their T-shirt size. Families are welcome to attend.
Luminaria Ceremony - Friday, April 27 - 9:00 pm.
The American Cancer Society will conduct their Relay for Life special ceremony and luminaria lighting to recognize those touched by cancer in Brenham and Washington County. Individuals and companies can make contributions in memory of those who have lost their fight with cancer and in honor of those who have survived. Each will be recognized and a lighted luminaria candle displayed at the Relay for Life event held on the Blinn Campus at Spencer Field. Luminaria contributions can be made by contacting the Luminaria chairs at 979-421-9991 or 979-251-2635.
