Become a Volunteer - Opportunities for everyone aged 12 and above

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum. Our volunteers reflect the love of country and service to others that President and Mrs. Bush encourage in everyone. We depend on the volunteers’ valuable time and talents to welcome visitors, school groups and researchers to our institution, as well as work behind the scenes on various projects. If you are between the ages of 12 and 17, please visit the Junior Docent section below.

The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum tells the story of the life and times of its namesake. The museum focuses on American history with an emphasis on post-World War II history and the office of the presidency. It takes many people to accomplish this mission. The professional staff of the museum form a partnership with a dedicated team of volunteers to carry out its mission. Volunteering at our library and museum gives you a unique opportunity to learn about President Bush.

You will also meet and befriend others with similar interests, like those profiled in our Volunteer Spotlight. Volunteers play an essential and dynamic role in sharing the legacy of President Bush to visitors from around the world.

Under the supervision of the Volunteer Coordinator, the volunteers are expected to provide professional and polished customer service to guests, lead tours and/or staff museum stations and attend training meetings offered throughout the year.
